Hitesh B. Jalani is Founder and Managing Director of InnovQem Research Lab Private Limited. He has over 25 years of experience in organic Synthesis. After his MSc (Organic Chemistry) he worked in the research labs of Zydus Cadila at Ankleshwar, United Phosphorus Limited at Ankleshwar, Zydus Cadila at Baroda, Torrent Pharma at Ahmedabad and Oxygen Healthcare at Ahmedabad from 1998-2007. After working over 9 years in the industries, he developed an aspiration to pursue research.
He joined Dr. Kamala Vasu's group at PERD center in Nov. 2007 for the Full-time PhD program on the Design, synthesis and pharmacology evaluation of novel quinazoline-thiophene, 2-amino-pyrrole, 3-amino-1,2,4-oxadiazole 2-amino-thiazoles, Quinazoline and thienopyrimidine heterocycles, there he published 6 chemistry synthesis related papers as first author. After PhD, he was invited to work at famous universities such as Northeastern University at Boston (USA), Korea University at Seoul (South Korea), Friedrich Alexander Universitate at Erlangen (Germany), Nanjing University at Nanjing (China) and Chungnam National University at Daejeon (South Korea). These universities have provided him a back ground to explore the work on Drug Discovery programs on Cardiovascular, Anti-Cancer, Transition Metal catalysis, Anti-Malarial agents, Organo-Catalysis, K-ras and Interleukin targeted medicinal chemistry and Neglected Tropical Diseases. Currently, he is the co-author of more than 45 peer-reviewed international publications and has 4 patents. Hitesh is still enjoying to guide Master & Ph.D. students in South Korea and India.
Hitesh has led the development of products, from design to pre-clinical stage. Hitesh's strength has been in Organic chemistry, Medicinal chemistry, process development, agrochemicals and material chemistry related synthesis.
